Presentation of Qvevri Wine Held in The Cities of France

In several cities of France, wine professionals, media and business representatives got acquainted with the Qvevri wine and Georgian wine culture. With the support of the National Wine Agency, Qvevri wine producers participated in the exhibition of natural wines – “Les Penitentes” in Anzhe and “La Dive Boutteille” in Saumur.

“La Dive Boutteille” is the largest and most popular natural wine exhibition in France, hosted by famous French winemakers. The exhibition attracts wine importers and professionals from different countries specializing in natural wines.

In “Les Penitentes” traditionally participate the world’s most famous “natural” wine producers. This year the Georgian stand was visited by the world’s famous expert and international master of wine – Isabel Lejeron.

“Les Penitentes ” and ” La Dive Boutteille ” were attended by hundreds of winemakers from different parts of the world. This year Georgian wine was presented for the 8th time. Participation in the previous years brought great success to Georgian winemakers.

The guests of the exhibition were able to enjoy the wines of the following companies: “Iago’s Wine”, “Mandili”, “Pheasant’s Tears”, “Marani Lagazi”, “GOGO Wine / Artanuli Wine”, “Kortavebis Marani”, “Ramaz Nikoladze’s Wine Cellar”, “Oqro’s Wine “.

Presentation of Georgian Georgian wine in such events increases the possibilities for Georgia to be known as a winemaker country to more people. On these exhibitions, Georgian wine is tasted not only by French people, but also representatives of other counties, so, promotion of Georgian wine and its maximum representation in all such exhibitions is of great importance. Introduction of Georgian wine in France makes Georgian wine widely known in all major markets of the world.

After these exhibitions, Georgian wine tasting will be held in specialized wine stores and bars in Nantes, Rennes and Lorriane. In the wine-growing country such as France, in 2017, 100 thousand bottles of wine were imported from Georgia, which is 178% higher than the similar data of 2016. The main share of export in France comes to Qvevri wine.
