Georgian Wine Exports Increased by 10%

In the first quarter of 2019, 19,4 mil. bottles (0,75l) of wine have been exported to 37 countries worldwide, that is 10% higher than the similar data of 2018. Exported wine income amounted to 47 mil. USD, that is 16% higher than the data of the previous year.

Georgian wine realization has increased in the direction of America, Asia, Europe and traditional markets.

Georgian wine exports have increased in Georgian wine strategic markets: Poland – 39% (1032400), China – 23% (1372839), and  USA -165% (182025); Also on European markets:  Lietuva – 21% (134376), Estonia – 18% (142112),  France – 41% (34170), Sweden – 313% (9000), Bulgaria – 161% (4500). Also, on traditional and Asian markets: Russia – 15% (13279083), Belorussia -36% (317280), Mongolia – 7% (66012) and etc. The first five of the exporter countries are the following: Russia (13279083), Ukraine  (1419222),  China (1372839),  Poland (1032400), and Kazakhstan  (560460).

Different amount of wine was exported by 148 wine companies.

In addition, 6 mil. bottles (0,5 liters) of brandy have been exported to 15 countries worldwide, that is 170% higher than the similar data of the last year. Exported “Chacha” income amounted to 323 thousand USD (increase – 153%).

Totally, wine, bandy, “Chacha”, brandy alcohol and brandy in pour income amounted to 67,73 mil. USD – growth in comparison with the similar data of the previous year amounted to 4%.
