Georgia Reports Rapid Growth in Wine Exports in Q1

Georgia exported some 19.4 million bottles of wine in the first quarter of this year to 37 countries, up 10 percent year on year, Georgia’s National Wine Agency said Tuesday.

It said in a newly released report that Georgia’s wine exports in the first three months amounted to 47 million U.S. dollars, 16 percent more than a year earlier, with notable expansion seen in nearly all the traditional and strategic markets including Europe and Asia.

Data showed Russia, Ukraine and China were the top three importers during the period, with 13.2 million bottles, 1.41 million bottles and 1.37 million bottles, respectively.
