“Our Government aims to turn Bakhmaro into an international destination and one of the key landmarks of our country, pride and joy of Georgia, very important source of income for local population” stated Mamuka Bakhtadze, Prime Minister of Georgia while addressing the audience gathered at celebration of the Transfiguration.
Head of the Government of Georgia congratulated Transfiguration to everyone and noted that Bakhmaro is mainly challenged with two issues: power energy and water supply, which will be addressed in the nearest future.
“At the same time Master Plan for Development of Bakhmaro will entail turning the region into a four season destination attracting visitors all year round; infrastructure development will be streamlined rather than chaotic, which is sadly the case at several recreation areas of the country. At the same time, we will hire Austrian experts who will examine the Development Plan to make sure that we design the site by taking into consideration the best European practice, turning it into a rare jewels of Georgia” added the Prime Minister of Georgia.
Head of the Government of Georgia wished great success to the horse riders gathered at the site for a traditional horse race.
“I feel so proud to be with you today in this unique setting. At the dawn of the 20th century, horse riders from Guria fascinated people in the United States of America with their skill and talent. It brings us great pride to have this tradition and culture maintained at this high level. It all needs further deepening. I believe that Gurian character is most fitted to horse riding. It shows the great energy and love of life, which makes this region of the country truly stand out” concluded the Prime Minister of Georgia.
Head of the Government of Georgia was briefed about the preparation to the music festival – Sunset – which will be held for the first time in Bakhmaro within the scope of Check in Georgia.
