Under amendments to the Georgian law on Special Protection of Green Plants and State Forestry Fund in Tbilisi and Adjacent Territories, Tbilisi City Hall will develop new regulations for protecting green plants in Tbilisi. The City Hall will submit the document to Tbilisi Council for approval.
Under the document, development companies will not be authorized to carry out construction works in the capital city without plans for arranging green zone within project territories.
The document also calls for introducing mandatory criteria for authorized bodies for assessment of compensation plantings and green plants.
Tbilisi Mayor David Narmania put forward the mentioned initiative to Tbilisi Council members when introducing the 2016 report.
New regulations are being developed, namely on introducing mandatory agreement of a dendrology project as part of K-3 coefficient. Developers will be obliged to follow these regulations. New buildings will not be put into exploitation without protection of these standards, David Narmania said.
