Tbilisi Underground Carriages Equipped with Supervision Cameras and Monitors

Tbilisi Transport Company plans to modernize underground railway carriages. A total of 12 carriages will be repaired in 2016, including four ones have already passed general repairs, while 8 other carriages that were rehabilitated in previous years will be reconstructed ahead of schedule.

“At this stage one train of four carriages will be put into exploitation and 8 other wagons will be repaired additionally. The plant employs more than 150 workers. We are implementing the modernization project stage by stage in order to modernize all carriages that have passed more than 1 million kilometers. In this process we employ modern energy-efficient and comfortable technologies” Tbilisi Mayor David Narmania noted.

The modernization project calls for putting trains to general repair  and installing modern systems.

Wagon interior will be completely changed, exterior will receive modern appearance, old lighting system will be replaced by new diode lights. Modern control system will be installed in the machinist cabin. Old mechanic details will be replaced by modern microprocessor schemes. Supervision cameras for control of platform and wagon interior have been already installed in carriages. All cameras are attached a due monitor.

The project aims at ensuring safe and comfortable transportation services to Tbilisi underground passengers.
