“The number of Ministries will shrink,” the nominee for the Prime Minister’s position told reporters. He also urged the Parliament of Georgia to implement new government approval procedures in the shortest period possible.
“In several days the Parliament will approve the new government and its program. A key principle of this program is to reduce the government’s size.”
“The reform calls for reducing the number of ministries to 11 from 14. This reform should be implemented immediately. Approval procedures fail to meet legal time frames. Consequently, the new government will be introduced to Parliament with 14 ministries, and later we will pass the same procedure with the Cabinet of Ministers anew.”
“Therefore, I have offered Parliament the option to pass approval procedures in a compressed time frame,” Bakhtadze said.
