Georgia-Bulgaria Might Become Part of a New Energy Corridor

The matter concerns to the transportation of Iranian gas to Europe, which will pass through Georgia-Bulgaria corridor.

The mentioned is merely an idea at this stage, but its discussion is underway. The Prime Ministers have discussed the issue on Monday.

Bulgarian Prime Minister, Boyko Borisov talked with the media about the importance of cooperation between Georgia and Bulgaria in the process of Transport Corridor.

Boyko Borisov has highlighted the role of new silk road initiative and the importance of Georgia-Bulgaria in Transport Corridor Development Process.

“The new Silk Road initiative is very important and Georgia and Bulgaria might be leaders in this initiative, which can bring great benefit for both countries. We have a potential to form good relations with Iran. It gives possibilities to form Georgia and Bulgaria as transit hubs of energy sources, which will positively reflected on our economy, as natural gas value will be declined”, –  Boyko Borisov has declared.

Georgian Prime Minister talked about the strengthening of relation with Bulgaria.

He declares that sharing of Bulgaria’s experience in numerous spheres is very important at the way of  European and Euro Atlantic integration.

“We have noted about our successful cooperation in the different spheres, especially in transport and trade segment. Our countries have great potential in order to form more tight relations. From this point of view, the Joint Economic Committee will bring the contribution in this process, which should be held in January 2016”, – Garibashvili said.

The Prime Minister has thanked the Bulgarian colleges for visiting him and invited them to Tbilisi.
