Around 8000 Families Will Get Natural Gas in Georgia

Almost 8,000 families living in rural Georgia will get natural gas for the first time.

20 million GEL will be allocated from the state budget for the purpose of gasification of more than 60 villages in 21 municipalities – Prime Minister noted prior to the Cabinet session. Prime Minister noted that soon around 8000 customers will be provided with natural gas.

“Villages such as Tsaishi, Gelati, Motsameta, Omalo, Abastumani are being considered… This are the projects of historical importance, which will ensure gasification of around 8000 households,” – Giorgi Kvirikashvili noted.

As well the plan to connect rural villages with gas, today’s Government meeting will also see high officials discuss future projects within the ‘Produce in Georgia’ state program.

The Government planned to finance three more projects within the program. These projects were:

  • A nut processing factory;
  • Tea factory; and
  • Milk processing plant.
