6 tips from CBW for Planning Your Vacation

So here is the summer, hot days of Georgia. You feel like traveling and enjoying your vacation, but suddenly your hopeless budget disappoints you. You have probably heard about cheap flights around the world, mostly to Europe. Here are several tips for you to find cheap flights much easier to spend your vacation:

1. Keep it secret!

The cookies fixed in your browser might betray you. When a particular destination and rout is being searched by several  browser with different IPs , eventually the site wants to scare you off to buy the ticket before it gets higher price so it increases the price.

The solution offered by thrifty nomads: In Google Chrome or Safari, incognito is enabled by hitting Command (or “Control” if using PC), Shift, “N”. For Mozilla Firefox or Internet Explorer, hit Command (or “Control” if using a PC), Shift, “P”. This will open a new browser window where your information is not tracked, thus not inflating prices as you search. Note: if you’re using an older version of OS X, open Safari then click “Safari” in the menu bar, and select “Private Browsing”. Your cookies are reset each time you re-open an incognito window. So if you want to start with a clean slate for each flight searches (so your previous searches aren’t “remembered”, potentially inflating costs), close all your incognito windows, open a new one, and then perform your flight search.

2. Combine flight search engines

The perfect one? there is no perfect web, although we have kited below some of our suggestions. If you’re looking for domestic ones it’s better to search in local webs (for Georgia we mostly recommend to travel by buses and trains locally) but don’t forget to consider variety of webs not to miss any result. A combination of two or three of these webs may give you a sufficient price.

3. Take care of timing

You need to be acquainted with high season/off-season of every destination. An example would be Dubai, as it has its own summer festival, even though it’s too hot there, it is one of the expensive destination and on other hand, Krakow Poland during July is quit rainy so it’s included in off-season list.

It’s not only about the season, but also about the date you buy the ticket. Finding the best day usually needs rapid analysis: take two weeks and check the flight date every day. It’s usually cheaper during weekdays, rather than weekends.

Also, if you have settled on the destination, our advice for you is to start your booking procedure as soon as possible.

4. Identify budget airlines

Europe has a number of low cost airlines, the largest and most ablieing easyJetRyanair germanwings and Air Berlin. These airlines have stirred up air travel within Europe by dramatically cutting fares.

Just don’t forget the following points:

  • You need to pay for luggage
  • You need to pay for your food/drink
  • You need to print out your own ticket
  • The airport may not be the main international central airport (for instance Kutaisi airport)
  • Don’t expect super high-class with full option screen TV
  • Don’t worry, they are safe, millions of people travel mostly with them!

5. Be flexible and save A LOT!

Sometimes a little inconvenience can save big money. Connecting flights, big airports. Also we suggest for Tbilisi resident to consider flying from Kutaisi Airport. Even though it may be a bit far from Tbilisi, you can fly much more cheaply.

And the last CBW tip to add a bit fun for planning your journey:

6. Kayak Explore : you can enter the web now and explore different prices from your departure point to your destination. It can show you where is the cheapest destination you can fly.

Other factors like trying to get alters from airlines which you like by subscription to their mail service or Facebook, checking the weather, taking care of your companion’s taste, checking the travelling agency and a lot more are still there to consider before having a vacation .

Your vacations will be the best time for you to relax and enjoy life, so live them to the fullest. Have a good trip!
