Mariam Mamadashvili, a Georgian contestant at the 2016 Junior Eurovision Song Contest, won the competition with her song “Mzeo”, meaning “Sun”.
Mamadashvili created Georgia’s third breakthrough as the winner at the Junior Eurovision.
In 2008, the Georgian group called “Bzikebi”, meaning “Wasps”, won first place in the Junior Eurovision. Followingly, in 2011, the Georgian group “Candy” broke into the finals of the Junior Eurovision Song Contest.
Competing with 17 contestants, all representing different countries, Mamadashvili gained a total of 239 points. Armenia followed with 232 points, coming in second. Italy followed with 209 points, coming in third.
