Minister of Economy sees a positive trend in the trade balance. According to Dimitri Kumsishvili, trade turnover of 8 months (excluding Hepatitis C Program) has improved trade balance.
“Our trade turnover of 8 months is declined by 11% in the part of export, however it is reduced in the part of import by 4%. As of published data, there had been import growth of 23, which does not coincides to the reality of the trade, because the remained is medicines of Hepatitis C Program. Respectively, we have improved trade balance by 25 million USD in external trade”.
“However, we had a very good trend in August. As you know, remittances are important tool, which assists our country in the part of payments balance and we had 25%-growth in this direction”, – the First Vice-Premier has declared during the presentation of new project on Tuesday.
Dimitri Kumsishvili highlighted, that growth is fixed in the tourism sector. The increase totals to 140 million.
“So, trade balance is a positive comparing to the same period of the previous year. This is especially important information for importers and those people, who imports commodity from abroad and sells it in our country”, – Dimitri Kumsishvili noted.
