Neither gas nor electricity price is planned to hike at this stage. The Prime Minister said answering the parliamentary minority’s questions.
“However, I would like to explain once again – this is our government’s position – we took on ourselves, we’ve allocated 15 million to subsidy the increased price of gas, so that the tariff increase will not affect the pockets of our citizens. As for electricity price, at this stage I am unable to tell you when it will happen and whether it will change at all.
This issue will be studied by the appropriate body. I know that several companies have applied to the Georgian National Energy Regulatory Commission, only after the issue is studied, consultations will be held within our legal framework and it will be known. At least at this stage either gas or electricity tariffs will not be increased, “- says the Prime Minister.
