Company “Agroplan” plans to plant pomegranates in Kakheti. The project is already in active phase and at this stage the business plan is being processed. Preliminary estimates of pomegranate seedlings are 400 hectares. As the founder of the company Mohamed Javad Arabnejad told bm.ge, there is a good prospect of massive producing of pomegranate in Georgia, according to the climate.
According to him, the saplings will be brought from Iran, Spain and the US.
“We want to be marketed for a long period of time, so we will use several varieties of seeds to harvest gradually,” said Mohamed Javad.
According to the company, the plantation will be planted with modern technologies and water system, 10-12 thousand dollars will be invested per hectare.
