In his public letter Bidzina Ivanishvili, the former Prime Minister of Georgia, has appraised the four-year performance of the Georgian Dream ruling party. Mr. Ivanishvili has also overviewed the economic performance of the current Authorities.
According to the public address, 114 memorandums have been signed on implementing renewable energy projects. Consolidated installed generation of all projects makes up 2800 megawatts.
The Commersant has inquired which specific projects the letter covers and requested the due information from the Ministry of Energy of Georgia.
According to the information submitted by the Ministry of Energy, 11 projects are at the stage of licensing and construction, 25 projects are being examined with the obligation of fulfilling construction works, 66 are at the stage of feasibility studies. The major projects are submitted to table below.
It turned out that a major part of power projects is implemented in the hydro power sector. The main part of them will be carried out in Samegrelo-Zemo Svaneti and Racha-Lechkhumi-Kvemo Svaneti. There are several projects for wind and steam power plants.
