EU welcomes the new railway corridor, which will enhance connections between countries and set new business and trading opportunities.
Eastern Partnership policy and Central Asia strategy is based on the mentioned principle, EU ambassador in Georgia Janos Herman noted regarding the Baku-Tbilisi-Kars railroad inauguration.
The Baku-Tbilisi-Kars railway inauguration is an important step for establishing transport connections, because it will connect EU, Turkey, Georgia, Azerbaijan and Central Asia.
“EU welcomes the new railway corridor that will set new business and trading opportunities. EU has always fostered making investments in infrastructure development and coordinating logistics with partner countries in neighborhood.
This project will ensure fast and reliable land connection between Asia and Europe, along the ancient Silk Road. The Baku-Tbilisi-Kars railroad is of the same importance as the South Gas Corridor”, Janos Herman noted.
