Head of the International Monetary Fund Mission, Mercedes Vera-Martin, is conducting a visit to Georgia.
As part of the visit, she has already held a meeting with Finance Minister Nodar Khaduri. According to the Ministry, the two sides discussed issues regarding IMF’s cooperation with Georgia, the existing economic situation in Georgia and the region as a whole, as well as the ongoing institutional and tax reforms in the country.
Priorities stipulated within the Georgian government’s 4-point plan were also discussed during the meeting. The head of the IMF Mission stated that she is honoured to be working on Georgian issues within the IMF, and to help the Georgian government implement beneficial macroeconomic policies in the country.
