Giorgi Kvirikashvili: Kutaisi is Turning into an International Hub of Education

According to the Memorandum, the Munich Technical University will join the project of Kutaisi International Technological University not as a consultant but as a partner, – Prime Minister Giorgi Kvirikashvili said at today’s government session.

Prime Minister said that the Kutaisi International Technological University project is very important and two days ago a Memorandum had been  signed between Kutaisi University and Munich Technical University, according to which, the Munich Technical University joins this project not as a consultant but as a partner.

“This is a very important step. Munich University is one of the world’s highest rated universities and we believe that this step will once again prove that Georgia has the greatest potential to be established as an international regional education center and this is a step that proves that Kutaisi is really becoming an international hub, as it had been historically. This is a historic project that we think will have a great impact on the development of Georgia not only in the coming years but also for a much longer period, so congratulations on this very great success,” Kvirikashvili said.

According to the Prime Minister, he is glad that Georgia is becoming increasingly popular not only for the students of the neighboring countries, but also for quite remote countries.

“Kutaisi University will be one of the most important educational institutions in Europe. We are convinced of the success of this project,” Kvirikashvili said.
