Georgia is ranked on the 71st place in the rating of the best energy systems.
World Energy Council prepared the record according to the data of 125 countries, where Georgia is far behind the immediate neighbors: Azerbaijan is on the 31stposition, Armenia – the 52nd, Russia – the 44th and Turkey – the 50th.
The Index envisages 3 criteria of the country: “Energy Security” (local and foreign sources of energy, reliability of energy infrastructure, and the ability of suppliers to meet current and future demand), “Access to Energy” (universal and financial access) and “Environmental Protection Sustainability” (the data shows how well the country manages the compromises).
Georgia is ranked as the 75th in the first component, while occupies the79th position in the second one and the 54th among 125 countries in the environmental protection direction.
Denmark is the leader of the rating, which has the best energy system in the world. The top three includes Sweden and Switzerland.
