Deputy Minister of Finance Nikoloz Gagua appraised indicators published by Geostat, national statistics service of Georgia. The 9.4% upturn in the first quarter of 2018 is an important positive figure, he said.
“The last year registered record investment inflows and this was unprecedented on regional level too. It is important that Georgia maintain FDI growth tendency. Indicators that Geostat published today demonstrates that Georgia provides very good business environment for foreign investments and our objective is to improve this environment in the future too”, the Deputy Finance Minister said.
We remind you that under Geostat report, FDI inflows in the second quarter made up 38
.2 million USD, up 9.4% year on year (+33.4 million USD). It is worth noting that in the second quarter the reinvestments rose by 34.3% to 178.8 million USD. Ratio of reinvestments in FDI inflows made up 45.9%, up 8.5% year on year.
