Georgia has raised a financial claim against CJSC Azerbaijani Railways (ADY).
Azerbaijani sources say that Georgia is ready to raise the matter at the intergovernmental level, Fineko/abc.az reports.
“Essentially the question boils down to payment of Georgian railway operators’ services by ADY on the organization of movement of Azerbaijani cars in the ports of Georgia. Georgian locomotives are used for this purpose. The amount of the debt is not yet so critical, but Azerbaijan does not want to accumulate debt for such services. In this regard, ADY is instructed to consider and resolve claims by mutual agreement,” the source said.
The piquancy of the question is the fact that mutual settlements for bilateral rail services must be carried out in Swiss francs.
