EBRD and TBC to Invest 14.3 Million USD for Lukhumi HPP

EBRD and TBC will invest 14.3 Million USD to develop Renewable energy sources in Georgia.  “Rustavi Group” will receive 5.6 million USD from Euro Bank and 8.7 USD from TBC to build average size of Hydro Power Plant.

According to EBRD, it makes the deal more stable with the European mechanism of risk share, which is on the other hand based on guaranteed mechanism and leaves the chances of increasing financing considering the amounts, which would be available without guarantees.

“Lukhumi” Hydro Electric Power Station has the capacity of 17.2 MW. Expected annual power equals to 86.3 MW in an hour. During summer, HPP will use river recourses and it will be able to export the energy to Turkey.
