In late November the so-called Himalayan iodized salt and brown sugar will appear on Georgian market.
GD Trade company will ensure production. The company has been operating in food industry for many years, namely in imports, distribution and sales of European food products. The company owner David Osepashvili told BusinessPressNews that required equipment and raw materials have been imported to Georgia.
“We import raw materials from deposits of mining countries and we only pack them. We think in late November and in mid December the product will appear on Georgian market too (Goodwill, Carrefour and so on)”, Osepashvili noted.
A major part of products will be exported to the region’s countries and the USA. As to the plant output, the company will manufacture 300-400 tons of brown sugar a year and 25-30 tons of rose salt. In Georgia the price of brown sugar will be 4 GEL and Himalaya salt price is expected to be 12-13 GEL, he said.
The plant is located in village of Dzegvi, Mtskheta Municipality and employs total of 30-40 persons. Total value of the project exceeded 1 386 700 GEL.
