Number of Ukrainian tourists visited Georgia in January-May 2014 increased by 27% compared with the same period in 2013 and amounted to 48.8 thousand people.
Director of Georgian National Tourism Administration George Sigua assures that “Ukrainians in Georgia will feel like home” in his interview with the Ukrainian “Forbes”.
He adds that in the 2014 season Georgia expects that the main flow of tourists will be sent to the Black Sea regions of Ajara and Samegrelo, where during the summer a number of important cultural events and festivals will be held.
“We welcome Ukrainian guests with open arms, create more new tourist products, we invite new airlines to our market. For example, “Ukraine International Airlines” and “Dniproavia” increased flows from Kiev, Dnepropetrovsk and Kharkov, “WizzAir” launched new flights, “YanAir” performs flights to Tbilisi and Batumi, “- Sigua notes.
