Bureaucratic expenditures will be cut by 25% for the next 3 years, Minister of Finance Mamuka Bakhtadze noted. As a result, Government’s savings will be enlarged to 6.5% in GDP by 2012, up from 2.6% of 2016.
“If we discuss government positions, we should analyze the current achievements in this direction: significantly decreased bureaucratic expenditures in GDP. As to absolute indicators, we have saved 140 million GEL and the salary component makes up 100 million GEL. I do not think 140 million GEL is a small amount, when we talk about similar reforms. According to the project agreed with IMF, by the end of 2020, the size in relation to the state and government GDPs will considerably shrink by 25%. If you name successful examples in the developing countries, I will be very happy. This indicator is very huge in the developing countries”, Bakhtadze said.
