CJSC Azerbaijani Railways (ADY) is sure of the upcoming launch of railway line Baku-Tbilisi-Kars.
ADY chair Javid Gurbanov has stated that the construction work on the territory of Georgia has been completed and it remained to carry out only the landscaping of the adjacent territory.
“Work on the territory of Turkey, according to the agreement, will be finished by the end of the year, and then the recipients will be able to obtain safe conditions for the delivery of goods for a short time and much cheaper than now,” Gurbanov said.
Today Baku is hosting the XLIV session of the Ministerial Meeting of the Organization for Cooperation between Railways (OSJD). The government of Azerbaijan was represented there by Deputy Prime Minister Abid Sharifov. He pointed out that the government headed by the country’s president attaches great importance to the development of rail transport.
“Regular negotiations with various countries are conducted on the issues of facilitation of cargo transportation through the territory of Azerbaijan,” Sharifov said.
