“We are negotiating with about more than 100 companies in light manufacturing, transport and logistics directions that are not represented in Georgia but are in the region. We want to make them interested in entering Georgia. It’s our aim to bring international brands into our country and make Anaklia Port their platform,” said Keti Bochorishvili. The consortium is working to create an economic zone.
“We are actively engaged in economic study and planning, as well as cooperation with many international economic zones and we will learn from them the best experience. We will have a specific outline of what economic zone will be in Anaklia by July.
It is important for us to be the first phase, which involves industrial and logistical elements, and is organized by a three-year plan. Then there will be integration of other components, including the city,” said Keti Bochorishvili.
The cost of first phase of the Anaklia port is 560 million dollars.
