Young Businesswoman from Telavi Introduces Mushroom Business Idea to Global Forum

Melano Dadalauri, 25, owns a mushroom greenhouse on the village of Kurdghelauri, the Telavi District. The young businesswoman has introduced her business idea for mushroom production to the international business forum, the Kakheti Information center news agency reports.

According to the news agency, ten winner participants will receive 5 000 USD money award for developing business production.

“We have introduced our mushroom greenhouse as a business idea to the Forum. The 20 best business ideas will be selected by the social network until March 13 and then the forum organizers will select ten best ones who will receive 5 000 USD money award for the production development. Moreover, the project winner will participate in the conference dedicated to agribusiness culture to be held in Africa. The Yong Professionals for Agricultural Development (YPARD) will assist enterprisers in implementing business ideas. The mentioned organization will also monitor the implementation of projects”, Melano Dadalauri told the Kakheti Information Center. 

The YAP (Youth Agripreneurs Project) project announced by The Gilbert Agricultural and Rural Development Center (GARD) aims at developing agriculture sector worldwide.

The greenhouse has obtained 2 500 GEL financial support as part of the Produce in Georgia state program and the greenhouse has been equipped with renovated technologies.

The greenhouse produces 200-250 kilograms of mushroom a year. The purchase price ranges from 3 GEL to 6 GEL.
