Young Beekeper from Tsaishi Continues Beekeeping Tradition

Shako Karchava is 22 year old entrepreneur, the student is from the village of Tsaishi in Zugdidi. Young entrepreneur wanted to continue beekeeping traditions of the ancestors and to turn it into business.

“I wanted to continue the tradition of ancestors. My decision is related to the involvement of young entrepreneurs in school. Several generations of my family were busy with beekeeping. I was eager to continue my this business and knew exactly how YES GEORGIA would help me to implement my idea. ”

Shako took part in YES GEORGIA training three years ago. Although he did not get financing at the final stage, he says that the school of young entrepreneurs was the inspiration and stimulus to start his business. In the Young Entrepreneurs’ School hhe learned how to do business, gain more sense of responsibility, hard work and most importantly, purposefulness.

Upon completion of the Young Entrepreneurs’ School, Shako purchased 40 families of bees and began active work. At this stage he starts to work on distribution with YES GEORGIA. Young people are encouraged to actively engage in similar programs because they believe that knowledge of these types of trainings and programs is the basis for successful implementation of all activities.

A new admission was announced at the Young Entrepreneurs’ School, organized within the framework of “YES-Georgia”, “Entrepreneurial Skills, Employment and Income Generating Support Project in Georgia” (YES-Georgia). Entrepreneurs from 16 to 28 who are interested in entrepreneurial activities can participate in the competition. Applications have already been launched and are followed in 7 cities: Tbilisi, Telavi, Gori, Akhaltsikhe, Kutaisi, Batumi and Zugdidi.
