Courier service express delivery “New Post” (“Nova Poshta”) enters the Georgian market. Along withGeorgia, it launches operations in Moldova.
“New Post” will start working in Georgia in test mode at the end of September. Jobs have already been announced.
“We’ve chosen to work in Georgia because of the bureaucratic barriers are minimal here to open and conduct a business,” – said Chief Business Development Officer at “New Post” Sergei Kovalenko.
Georgia’s geographic proximity to Ukraine and Moldova played its role in the company’s decision.
The company’s branches will be opened in major cities of Georgia – Tbilisi, Kutaisi, Rustavi and Batumi.
“New Post” says that a competition is relatively weak in Moldova and Georgia – each of which has a state player and ten private operators, including “Big Four” (DHL, UPS, TNT, FedEx) representatives or franchisees.
In addition, Georgia is viewed as a springboard for a further development throughout the Caucasusregion. However, at this stage the company does not talk about the expansion plans.
“New Post” also doesn’t specify a volume of investments, which will be invested in the projects inGeorgia and Moldova.
According to “Ukrcurier” company, the company will invest more than a million dollars in the Moldovan market, while in Georgia 1.5-2 times more.
The investment will be approximately returned in two years.
