Nikora franchise acquired several stores that are currently active on the Georgian market. Among these are 7 “Sundays” stores in Zugdidi; 3 “Ki Batono” stores and 2 “Homemart” supermarkets in Tbilisi.
As a result of this purchase the quantity of Nikora stores in Georgia will reach that of 110. At this stage the company owns up to 70 stores in the capital and around 40 supermarkets in the regions.
Nikora management made it known that “Sundays,” “Ki Batono,” and “Homemart” supermarkets will be completely transformed in the near future. The stores will be renovated, the product variety will expand and the services will improve. “We have different plans for these businesses. In case of “Ki Batono” and “Homemart” a full rebranding will take place – the existing 5 stores in Tbilisi will be turned into Nikora supermarkets.”
“Concerning the 7 “Sundays” stores operating in Zugdidi – the brand name and trading format will remain the same. Assortment of the products will increase, however, and very soon the store will sell the variety of products that exist in our franchise,” – Nikora CEO Tinatin Machavariani told CBW.
She also noted that the company is not planning on replacing the existing personnel. Instead, the workers will be trained anew and will gain new positions accordingly.
