Government to Let Foreign Citizens Easier Launch Business in Georgia

Revolutionizing changes are coming, Prime Minister Mamuka Bakhtadze noted when discussing government’s new initiatives, under which citizens of 34 countries will be allowed to register new business companies in Georgia in electronic format without arriving in the country, as well as to open bank accounts and enjoy various preferences. This initiative will create preconditions for make the country a regional finance center, the Prime Minister said.

We plan to introduce electronic registration format that will enable citizens of 34 countries to electronically register their business companies in Georgia without visiting Georgia and open bank accounts, enjoy Georgia’s preferential tax regimes. All these 34 countries are economically developed countries and this is a crucial precondition to make Georgia a finance center in the region, Bakhtadze noted.

All departments will receive due instructions, while the draft law will be submitted to the parliament. Objective of the Government is to enforce this mechanism starting January 1m 2019, Bakhtadze noted.
