There is much demand for Georgian tea ingredients in Germany, where fruit tea is made of Georgian dried fruits. GEO-Flower company exports Georgian ingredients to Germany.
Mindia Khutsidze, one of the founders and director of the company, told the Fortuna that there is demand for dried fruits of other European countries too, however, the company cannot produce a required volume of product, at this stage.
GEO-FLOWER has suspended exports, because the operating season comprises spring and summer periods. Nevertheless, the company expects a new order from Germany at the end of January, he added.
“We have been cooperating with Germany since 2000 and we export several varieties of dried fruits, of which they produce fruit tea there. As to exports to other countries, the interest exist, but we cannot satisfy even the German market demand. We expect new orders at the end of January with specified details about volume and sort of products in 2017”, Khutsidze said and added that about 600 tons of fruit were exported to Germany in 2016.
GEO-FLOWER exports 100% of products to foreign markets and does not distribute products on Georgian market, he added.
“Gurieli is an only company in Georgia, to which we supply our dried fruits. Gurieli fruit tea is made of our dried fruits”, the company noted and added that the company manufactures several varieties of fruit and plant teas: sweetbrier, apple, berry, thorn, pear and nettle. Moreover, GEO-FLOWER also produces healing herbs.
