Georgia to Launch Swiss Cheese Production

Blauenstein Georgia company plans to launch dairy production. At this stage, the company owns 6 cattle-breeding farms in the Racha Region.

A dairy plant will be constructed in 2 years. Currently, Gruyere Swiss Cheese is not produced in Georgia. It is worth noting unlike all other Swiss cheese varieties, Gruyere Cheese is made of only Alpine milk.

At the cattle-breeding farms the Georgian domestic cows will be mated with   Schwitz and Simmental varieties of high-productive cows through artificial fertilization to improve genetic characteristics. The mentioned neat cattle weighs 800-1100 kg.

Georgia-Swiss company Blauenstein Georgia launched business activities in the Racha Region in 2008.
