Entrepreneur Gela Chkoidze Plans to Export Spices of His Own Production to Europe

Georgian seasonings, which are sold under the brand name of House of Spice on the domestic market, do not contain harmful substances for human health, eugeorgia.info reports.

National Food Agency laboratory examination has showed that the product of House of Spice is absolutely safe and consumers are able to buy them without hesitation.

The company owner Gela Chkoidze says that the laboratory examination results was foreseeable for him.

“Peasants pick raw materials in highland zones, Svaneti, Samtskhe-Javakheti. I bring savory from Borjomi, which is picked on cliffs and similar places are free of emission”, Gela Chkoidze noted.

Spice processing plant, which is equipped in compliance with European standards, is located in the village of Zemo Khvedureti, Kareli District. The enterprise on 300 square meter space will launch operation at full capacity by the end of 2017 and initially, it will process about 5 tons of raw materials.

In the future, I plan to export my product to Europe. I have personal contacts in Greece and Spain. After the enterprise starts working at full capacity, I will send products to the mentioned countries. My key objective is to introduce Georgian traditional product to European consumers. I have a spice wholesale store in Gori. Europe-based Georgian nationals frequently come and buy my products to introduce them to Europeans. They told me that Europeans like Georgian spice very much”, Gela Chkoidze said.

The businessman plans to arrange a vineyard in the village of Zemo Khvedureti, produce bio wine and export to European market. The businessman also wishes to develop eco tourism center in his native village and attract international tourists from Europe.
