Businessman Temur Chkonia began construction of the bread factory. The factory is being built in Lilo settlement on the territory of Castel beer factory and will be put into operation in 5 months.
McDonald’s- Georgia founder states CBW that he wants to supply fast food restaurant chain with the locally-produced bread. However, notes that the plant will produce several types of bread products, which will be on sale not only in McDonald’s. “We invited a consultant from Israel, with whom we are holding consultations on the product range and discussing additional details,” Chkonia notes.
In his words, at least 2.5 million euros will be invested in the plant.
First McDonald’s restaurant in Georgia was opened in 1999. Now the network has 9 branches, out of which six are located in Tbilisi, the rest – in Kutaisi, Batumi and Zugdidi. In Chkhonia’s words, in 2016 the new facilities are planned to be constructed in the city of Rustavi.
