In May 2016 the Prime Minister and the Economy Minister of Georgia will leave for China to take part in the Beijing International Exhibition, the Chinese Republic Ambassador in Georgia JI Yanchi told the Business Contact.
The tourism sector is one of the new directions in the Georgia-China relations. In the last year 6 400 tourists arrived in Georgia from China and this is a low figure. Georgia’s participation in the Beijing exhibition will provide good opportunities for exposing Georgia’s economic potential, the Chinese Ambassador noted.
“Georgia provides a very good investment climate. At this stage, Georgia is a developing country.
Chinese investors are most interested in infrastructure projects, including railway project.
The Chinese party has also showed interest in constructing a tea processing plant in Georgia and respective negotiations are underway”, the ambassador said.
